Visas and Immigration
For information about applying for a visa to enter Australia, please visit this website.
The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) manages the movement of people into and out of Australia. It administers Australia's migration program, including the granting of permanent residence visas, citizenship, refugee settlement and ethnic affairs.
From Monday 28 November 2011, all visa and citizenship applications in New Zealand will be lodged at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Auckland. An AVAC service fee of NZD$28 for all visa applications will be applicable.
All applications will continue to be assessed and decided by DIBP staff at the Australian Consulate-General in Auckland.
Contact details for the AVAC are available here.
